Overview
Tracker Inventory Notes, iNotes for short, were first developed in 1998 and are now being implemented/revived in 2005/2006 versions of Byte Designs Tracker software as a regular feature.
iNotes allows you to create single or multiple notes for any part number in inventory. A single note can be assigned to multiple part numbers so that the note has to be written only once and when changes are made to the note the change is reflected in every part number the note has been assigned to.
Each note can be contextually targeted to display in the Inventory Maintenance Screen or the Sales Screen. Each note can be set to display as soon as the part number is displayed, without any keystrokes or alternatively the not can be recalled using the F11 function key. If multiple notes are assigned to a part number each F11 key-press will display the next note.
An iNote can be entered directly with the iNotes maintenance program or as a plain text file, which can then be maintained with your favorite editor or word processing program. (Be sure you save it as a plain text file after any modifications).
