You may select using the arrows and then pressing enter ot you may simply press the letter indicated to the left of the menu description.

Inventory Add/Edit - Sell Update on Cost Change = NO

This selection is used to add new items to inventory and/or to make changes to existing items. Selling prices will be calculated for NEW parts, but not when you change cost on an existing part number record. Gross margin percent is always calculated whenever cost or a selling price is changed.

Alternating and/or Superseding part numbers are also set up in Inventory Add/Edit.

Inventory Add/Edit - Sell Update on Cost Change = YES

This selection is basically the same as above, with the exception that selling prices will be automatically recalculated whenever cost is changed.

Kit Add/Edit

This task is used to set up components for `kits'. Please remember, before a kit can actually be used in the sales portion of the System you must have a part number assigned in the Inventory Master.

To add part numbers to be sold as part of a kit, or to make changes - press the letter K.

Enter a kit part number, i.e.: ABC. If the kit already exists, parts belonging to the `kit' will be displayed. If it's a new kit the `NEW kit' message will be shown in the lower left corner of your screen.

While the kit detail is set up in the Kit Add/Edit program, you must also set up a kit part number in the Inventory Master.

Fill in all fields as if it was a regular part number with the exception of the Misc field. You must indicate to the System that it's dealing with a kit number by putting the letter K in the Misc field. (see arrow).

If you leave selling prices at zero the kit price will be calculated at the time of sale. Inventory of each part number in the kit will also be adjusted at time of sale. The System keeps track separately whether a part number was sold as a kit component or directly.

Update Quantity Sold, Update Quantity Received, Update Quantity on Hand

These selections can be used to affect inventory quantity fields directly and immediately. Caution though, no audit record is kept for changes made.

They allow for rapid updating of the quantity on hand field, adding, subtracting or replacing the quantity on hand with the value entered.

The task can be selected with arrows followed by ENTER or select by number.

Enter the part number of the item to be `adjusted'. The System will show the current quantity and prompt for input of an `adjustment'.

Depending on whether you have selected 2, 3 or 4, the System will adjust the quantity on hand accordingly and display the new quantity.

Quick Edit

This feature allows you to select specific fields for edit and/or display allowing for much quicker editing.

The Quick Edit feature of Inventory Maintenance lets you select the fields to be displayed and/or made available for edit.

You are able to `customise' the Inventory Master Screen. With only having to display the necessary fields the screen update time will be somewhat shorter than when all information has to be printed to the screen.

Fields not selected for Edit are skipped making the cursor go directly to the next Edit field selected.

To set up your custom screen put a D next to the field name if you only want to see the field as a part is called up.

To allow you to Edit a field put an E next to the field name.

Unless you have an E or D next to the field name it will be skipped.

When a part number is entered the cursor will go to the first Edit field instead of the Edit Prompt, otherwise the Edit Function is the same as the regular Inventory Add/Edit.

Exit

Exit the sub menu.
